People love the convenience of self-treating their conditions from home. Here’s a list of a few quick fix home remedies to make your day much more comfortable.
1. For Sore Throat
Salt water is useful for a variety of reasons, including relieving some of the pain and discomfort of a sore throat. Don’t drink it though! Place no more than a teaspoon of salt in to an 8 ounce glass of water and gargle it. If the irritation persists, you should get your throat checked out for infections.
2. For Nausea
If feeling a little nauseous, try drinking some ginger tea. Ginger has been used for centuries for it’s medicinal qualities, although we still do not fully understand what makes it so efficient at reducing nausea. It could be that ginger obstructs serotonin receptors that cause nausea in the gut.
3. For Constipation
If you’re having trouble with constipation, you should try prunes, or ‘dried plums’. Prunes are a natural source of fiber which is essential in alleviating constipation, along with drinking enough water. You could also try psyllium husk powder, known to be an effective laxative and beneficial for overall digestive health. A high-fiber diet is critical to avoid constipation in general.
